A Garden by the Sea - A zine inspired by the words and films of Derek Jarman

A Garden by the Sea is a 24-page, A4 2 colour riso zine inspired by the diaries, films and art of Derek Jarman (1942-1944) the celebrated British film director, artist, writer and gay rights activist.

The limited run zine combines Jarman's diary entries with full page illustrations and comics detailing and inspired by Prospect Cottage, his final home and its unique garden close to the beach at Dungness, Kent. 

First printed six years ago A Garden by the Sea is back in print for a short period.
