A firm spicy favourite that packs a punch.

A household staple in the chilli department, fantastic to grow and whilst the green peppers taste almost like a veggie, the red has a sweeter flavour and is often smoked or pickled.

Jalapeño seeds UK are ideal for growing mild chillies at home. Sow indoors from March to May, transplant after frost risk. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly to keep soil moist. Harvest mature green chillies about 70–85 days after sowing for fresh use or pick when red for hotter flavour.

How to Sow, Grow and Harvest Chilli 'Jalapeño' Seeds

  • Sow:March–May indoors, transplant after last frost
  • Germination:7–14 days at 20–25°C
  • Grow:Full sun, well-drained soil, space 30cm apart
  • Water:Regular watering, keep soil moist but not waterlogged
  • Harvest:70–85 days; pick green for mild heat or red for stronger flavour
  • Best for:Pots, greenhouse, sunny garden beds
