This soil blend has a brilliant mixture of Coco Coir, Perlite, Vermiculite, Zeolite, Activated Charcoal, and Worm Castings.

This blend is a highly aerated, highly moisture-retaining mixture. It has gigantic quantities of small air pockets to suit the fine roots of Calathea and Maranta. The extra aeration also aids in allowing new shoots to emerge from the soil as well as creating an extra safety net against root rot. The moisture retaining elements such as Vermiculite, Zeolite and Coco coir mean there is less risk of accidentally under watering and causing these dramatic plants to droop or become crispy.

Ultimately these plants need moisture. Coming from the rainforest floor, there is no such thing as a dry spell for these plants. However it is also very easy to overwater these plants, especially as they react to so many different environmental factors causing the owner to think water is the problem. To prevent this risk we made the mix extra airy, which also benefits the plants growth patten and root structures.

As with all of the Soil Ninja premium mixes a population of positive bacteria, mycelium and microfauna is present in the substrate to create the potted ecosystem which keeps your plant healthy! Enough nutrients for the first 2 months of growth is also in every bag along with our specialist nutrient storage component, Zeolite.

This soil is also ideal for: Banana Plant, Angel Wing Begonia, Grape Leaf Begonia, Lucerna Begonia, Polka Dot Begonia, Bird of Paradise, Bright Star, Calla Lily, China Doll Plant, Christmas Tree (Potted), Coleus, Hawaiian Wedding Vine, Nerve Plant, Parakeet Flower, Parrot Plant, Party Time Plant, Peace Lily, Persian Shield, Schismatoglottis Wallichii, Spider Plant, Baby Bunny Bellies, Creeping Basket Plant, Giant White Inch Plant, Moses In The Cradle, Purple Spiderwort, Red Hill, Silver Inch, Waffle Plant, Zebra Plant.
