Paludarium Workshop, Sunday 6th September 12.00pm - 1.30pm

£50.00

Join COSM, at London Terrariums Bethnal Green store, for an afternoon of contemplative terrarium building; with a heavy focus on aquatic plants, emersed and emergent growth, and Paludarium style scaping.

This is your chance to make your own Paludarium. A Paludarium is a a type of terrarium that creates both land and water environment in one enclosed habitat. You can think of it as a cross between an aquarium and a terrarium, designed to recreate the kind of environment you might find along the edge of a rainforest stream, swamp, or riverbank.

The name comes from the Latin word "palus," meaning swamp, combined with aquarium.

We'll be scaping with natural materials to make rock scapes with a dashing pond feature that you'll be able to take home with you!

Come and learn the ins and outs of terrarium scaping with aquatic plants and leave with your own little world that models how terrestrial plants work together with waterside ecosystems.

At this workshop you will leave with:

-A boggy terrarium hand built by you
-An emergent plant care guide

The workshop will last approximately 60-90 minutes, please arrive on time and get in touch if you're running late!

Accessibility: Our workshops take place downstairs accessed by a spiral staircase and you will be seated throughout. If you have any needs regarding accessibility please let us know and we can adjust to your requirements.

Reviews

Throughout the entire process, Emma provided exceptional service. Emma responded to my messages very quickly and always answered my questions. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the session, which was both informative and fun. Everything about the session had been carefully considered and the whole experience was very enjoyable.

We attended a terrarium workshop recently and it was such a fun experience. The young lady who hosted the event was so informative, engaging and supportive as we created some beautiful terrariums. This is something i've wanted to do for a while and the experience was certainly worth it. Fingers crossed we can keep our little jungle alive and well for many years to come!
